My childhood Ⅱ ( A few memories of my father)

🔆 Went to Mountain Ali
My Father died when I was 7 years old, there are just a few memories of him in my remembrance. He
was always kindly, never lowered at me.
One of the memories was that day we(Mother, Father and me, I don't remember whether my brother was included) went to Mountain Ali, when we walked into a souvenir shop that stood by the road, Father asked me which toy I wanted.I pointed to a beautiful wooden sword.Father bought it immediately for me as a souvenir.
I was so glad and loved the sword very much.

📝 Learning how to write
Before I went to kindergarten, my Father often taught me how to write my own name.He caught my hand and the pencil in my fingers, wrote every line of my name slowly, and explained
patiently.
I perceived vaguely that he loved my name very much.
He also taught me drawing with pencil. I was so fascinated with his making a sketch of a banana tree, especially the leaves. I thought it was magic and beautiful to produce images on the papers with a pencil.
Maybe it was the cause of my fondness for fine arts.

🚄 Went  back to his hometown.
My Father's hometown was at a little township called Mingjian(民間鄉) in Nam Tau County(南投縣).
The trip that went back to his hometown was a travail to me.
Mother, Father and me used to took a night train, the scenes  out of windows were  wrapped up in the dark. I liked gazing on the lights passing by , some of them were street lamps, and some were effusions from houses' windows. The gazing did not last too long before I went asleep.
At the break of dawn,we arrived at one station (I didn't know it's name),and changed branch train there.
The waiting in the winter cold air was very impressive to me.
At last the branch train came, we got on board. The carriages were always too crowded to have seats for us. The slow speed of train seemed to be unendurable for me. I stood with sleepy eyes and sore feet. I felt giddy when we reached the destination finally.
My grandma's house was a good distance away from the train station, we walked to it.
It was a shabby ,one-floor wooden house in which grandma, uncle and aunt lived. Crossing the doorsill, into the room, we saw uncle and aunt bowed heads straining their eyes by sewing in poor light. They lived on the small income of tailoring.
My mother always sat silently outside the house accompanied by me when Father was talking to our relatives in other's.
I was too young then to understand what her meditation was.It was so boring to spend such a long time in waiting, I never knew what we were waiting for.
Mom would give me one or two coins to buy some rubber balls to amuse myself.
Until the dusk fell, we said good-bye to grandma, uncle and aunt, started another tiresome journey to go back home.
